TYPE A: FIBC has no special static protection mechanism. Normally, should not be used where a flammable atmosphere is present
Available models:
GARNET – DIAMOND – PEARL – EMERALD – SAPPHIRE – JADE – QUARTZ
TYPE B: FIBC is constructed from insulating fabric but has voltage breakdown less than 6kV. May be used if MIE of flammable atmosphere is above 25mJ
Available models:
GARNET – DIAMOND – PEARL – EMERALD – SAPPHIRE – JADE – QUARTZ
TYPE C: FIBC is normally constructed from fabrics having inter-connected static dissipative or conductive threads
* Resistance from any location on FIBC to ground <1x108 ohm
* Must be electrically grounded during filling and emptying
* May be used where a flammable atmosphere is present
* If left electrically isolated from ground would pose greater
ignition risk than Type A and B FIBC’ s
Available models:
GARNET – DIAMOND – PEARL – EMERALD – SAPPHIRE – QUARTZ
TYPE D: ( I-STAT ) FIBC is constructed from fabrics with static dissipative properties and/or threads to control incendivity of discharges regardless of whether electrically grounded or ungrounded
* Advantage - Does not have disadvantages of Type C FIBC
* When grounded, no induction charging hazard
* If left ungrounded, no spark discharge hazard
* Can be used where a flammable atmosphere is present
Available models:
GARNET – DIAMOND – PEARL – EMERALD – SAPPHIRE – QUARTZ
